After a not so small period of inactivity as regards its 8-inch tablet line, in 2019 Apple presented to us to the fifth generation iPad Mini. Does it have something to surprise us with, and does it live up to our expectations? Or is it just another small pocket tablet? Let‘s see what it has to offer to us.

As we can notice, the size and design remain unchanged compared to the previous model – 7.9-inch screen with resolution of 1536x2048 pixels and weight of 300 grams. Even as regards the body colour options, the Rose Gold preferred by the ladies is still lacking. But that’s not the most important thing. 

In fact, iPad Mini 5 impresses with its performance, significantly improved display and functions. It is powered by the 64-bit A12 Bionic chip, which is the most powerful for 2018 and is also used in iPhone XS, its larger version Max and XR, as well as in Air 3. And according to Apple, its energy consumption is 50% less compared to A11 Bionic. 

The awesome Retina display has antireflexive coating, wide colour range (P3) and to the joy of many fans of the brand – the True Tone function, which automatically adjusts colours and brightness to match the ambient lighting. 

There are also improvements in the cameras – the Live Photos function is added, and the front camera here is with a 7-megapixel sensor and a flash. 

And last but not least – this is the first Mini to support Apple Pencil Gen 1.
