The touchscreen is a device used to input information by touching the surface or by other mechanical influences (pressure, electrical pulse).
It is a transparent glass, connected via sensors and cables to the information processing equipment – which could be a smartphone, a laptop, a stationary computer, or another device.
The screen reacts to the touch of the fingers, thereby triggering the desired function or the respective action.
Monitors of this type are often used for interactive displays, in supermarkets and as terminals. Lately, they are also common in all-in-one devices (computer and monitor in one). They allow for convenient Internet browsing, drawing, and other activities. Their size ranges from 17 to 86 inches, and they support high resolutions – up to 4K.
The touchscreen and the screen of the monitor should not be confused – these are completely different devices. The display shows various images, and the touch screen covers the display – so when we want to trigger the desired action by pressing the button on the display, we actually press the touchscreen.
