The most common iPhone battery problems?
Today we'll focus on phone batteries from Apple models.
We stopped at this topic because people view this parameter as something scary and worrying. However, in most cases, it turns out that there is no serious problem.
The topic of batteries became very interesting mostly when Apple introduced battery health. Based on an algorithm, they extracted the battery life percentage. From a consumer perspective, this is one of the main parameters of the phone, especially when buying it second-hand. Battery health for phones is like the engine in cars. When buying a used car, one of the first things you look at is the engine. A similar comparison can be made with phones and batteries.
1. Problems Coming from Temperature and Overheating
A large part of battery problems come from temperature and battery overheating. While cold affects capacity more momentarily, high temperature increases the internal temperature of the battery. This affects its chemical processes and leads to degradation. Frequent loading and temperature increase can also lead to swelling. This happens mostly when the battery is overcharged.
Battery swelling is an even bigger problem. This leads not only to battery replacement but can have additional consequences like screen breakage. Which in turn leads to even higher expenses.
2. Wireless Charging
What happens when we use wireless charging? When the phone is on wireless charging (especially when in a case) and simultaneously several applications are running, there's almost no case where the phone won't heat up and turn off. Which is enough to understand that wireless charging is not recommended.
There are many factors that affect battery quality and life. But there are also many things we as users can do if we want this phone to serve us longer. Use normal chargers, not low-quality copies that affect incorrect charging. Don't deliberately make this phone overheat. Don't play games while the phone is connected to the charger and charging, as this causes the battery to increase its temperature.
3. Normal Aging of Elements
Normal aging (or chemical aging) of elements is something that cannot be avoided. We can't expect, for example, a 7-year-old phone to work like a brand new one. Certainly, the chance of the battery needing replacement at some point is much higher than with a 1-2 year old phone. For a battery to work properly, the already listed requirements should be observed.
Best for battery health is not to use the full depth from 0 to 100 percent. If the phone allows, it should be charged between 20 and 80%. Even more frequent charging from 20 to 80% significantly extends its life. Another thing that should be limited is the use of wireless charging. It overheats phones and shortens battery life, especially if we work on it and have background processes loading the bottom and processors.
