Practical Guide to Choosing a Refurbished Computer (Part 2)
Practical Guide to Choosing a Refurbished Computer (Part 2)
In this blog article, we continue from where we left off last time. Specifically, we'll introduce you to the remaining types of computers available at Hop.bg, what to choose based on your needs, and whether it will meet your requirements.
-
Ultra Small Form Factor (USFF) PC Starting with the smallest representative, the Ultra Small Form Factor (USFF) PC. It's also the most widely used in recent years due to its many advantages and comparable performance to other types. From an aesthetic standpoint, its compact size is a major advantage. Often, it can be placed behind a TV, effectively turning the TV into a computer. It also boasts energy efficiency, which is significantly higher compared to Desktop and Tower models. These computers are commonly used for light multimedia tasks and advertising on various monitors.
The drawbacks of USFF PCs include space limitations due to the small chassis size and specific power supply requirements, which can complicate repairs when components fail. It's expected that USFF PCs will become more prevalent in the market in the near future, especially as production of other types decreases abroad. Currently, customers might find them somewhat "unserious," as there's a transition from 30-kilogram computers to those that can fit in a bag.
-
All-in-One PC All-in-One PCs integrate the computer's motherboard into the back of the monitor. Essentially, the entire computer is housed within the monitor itself. From an aesthetic standpoint, this is the most practical solution for offices and homes.
There are numerous advantages: eliminating the logistical hassle of cables that come with other types of computers, everything is right in front of us and integrated into one unit. It provides a ready-made configuration that you simply place on your desk, connect one power cable, and forget that you have a computer. Everything is built-in, including cameras, speakers, microphones, USB ports, and other connectors.
The disadvantages are similar to USFF computers—lack of hardware upgrades and difficulty in repairing faulty components.

Gaming Machines and Workstations Gaming machines and workstations will be covered in more detail in our upcoming blog articles. However, here are the basics. Gaming PCs are visually distinctive—illuminated, angular, transparent, designed for gamers. The advantages include their large size, expansive chassis, and capability for extensive upgrades (RAM, up to 3 graphics cards, multiple SSDs or hard drives, powerful power supplies). Often, typical gaming machines also feature liquid cooling, which is highly effective.
Workstations are even more serious machines, often more reliable than gaming PCs due to the components used. They are used primarily for specific tasks such as video editing, design work, and graphic design.
The key factor in choosing a machine is its intended use for the customer—whether it will be used for light tasks, entertainment, casual gaming, or professional work and gaming.
In summary, standard Tower desktop computers are easy to upgrade and offer good configurations. Mini desktops and Ultra Small Form Factor PCs are characterized by their horizontal layout on desks and compactness, suitable for placing a monitor on top. All-in-One PCs are the best aesthetically pleasing option for desks, while gaming computers and workstations are more specialized machines with specific configurations.
