iPhone SE и iPhone Mini

The topic of today's blog article is about some less popular Apple phones – iPhone Special Edition 2nd and 3rd generation and iPhone Mini – 12 and 13. We will look at the similarities and differences between the individual models.
1. Design
Purely technologically, these models are different. Visually, however, the iPhone SE 2nd Generation and 3rd Generation are very similar. The same applies to the iPhone 12 Mini and iPhone 13 Mini. The small difference comes in the cameras of the Mini variants. There, the positioning of the cameras differs in the individual versions.
The very design of the phones we are looking at today has a "spirit of bygone times". The iPhone SE 2 and 3, for example, have the same design as the now archaic iPhone 8. In general, the iPhone SE are reminiscent of the first models of Apple phones after the earliest square iPhones, which are now out of production (such as the iPhone 4 and iPhone 5, for example).
2. iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 Mini
iPhone 12 and 13 Mini can be defined as “work” phones. This is a phone that is for people who are constantly on the go and for whom a large phone is inconvenient, but they need to have all the smart applications for everyday life.
For some people, for example, it is quite convenient to have both versions of a given model – both the standard or Pro model and the Mini version. The main disadvantage for customers who do not like smaller phones is that the iPhone Mini is inconvenient for browsing and watching videos. In general, the Mini is very convenient when used primarily for communication.
3. iPhone Special Edition
As we have already mentioned, the iPhone SE visually resembles the iPhone 8. It is characterized by a large frame from top to bottom, a Finger Print (which is in the Home button), a glass back and a small display. Purely hardware-wise, there is no change from the iPhone 8 in terms of display, camera, and parameters. On the one hand, this is a minus, but on the other hand, it is also a plus. The parts are cheaper when you need to replace a component, and the performance is good because of the hardware changes that have been made to them. With the iPhone SE, prices are many times lower for both the display and the back. Even replacing a battery is much cheaper than for the models after it.
Unlike the design, purely hardware-wise, the iPhone SE 2 and 3 are much more modern. Both models still support the latest version of iOS 18.
4. The differences between the iPhone SE and the iPhone Mini
In fact, the big difference is between the two different models – the iPhone SE and the iPhone Mini. There we already have the new “edge” design, which was introduced from the iPhone 12 onwards. The larger display also appears, which has removed the Finger Print and the appearance of Face ID. In terms of size, the iPhone SE screen is smaller than that of the Mini. The Mini has an all-screen display, while the Special Edition has larger bezels.
One of the most important things customers care about in a phone is the internal storage. The iPhone 12 Mini starts at 64GB, while the 13 Mini starts at 128GB and goes up to 512GB. This is the main difference between the two phones. The issue of phone storage (or rather, the lack of it) has become quite popular in recent years. Many customers are faced with the dilemma of whether to spend a little more money to get a bigger phone, or after a certain period of time to start paying every month for iCloud space.
One of the big differences between the SE and Mini models actually comes from the two cameras – the White and Ultra White cameras. Despite the differences in megapixels, the cameras on both models are quite decent. Just because the phone is a Mini variant doesn’t mean the camera is worse than the standard iPhone.
5. Advantages of iPhone Mini and SE
The big advantage of these phones is that they can be handled with one hand. Literally, from one end of the phone to the other you can reach with one movement of the hand.
In conclusion, we can say that iPhone Mini and iPhone SE are two models of convenient phones. They are designed for working people, for those who are constantly on the move, for people who drive and especially for those who use the phone mainly for communication.
