Should I upgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 11?

With every new Windows, the question always arises - should I upgrade now or wait a little longer? If you are wondering whether to switch from Windows 10 to Windows 11, then in today's blog article we will explain everything important so that you can make a decision.
We will look at the advantages and disadvantages of Windows 10 and Windows 11 and finally we will give you a quick test to check if your machine is suitable for Windows 11. Let's get started!
1. Advantages of Windows 11 over Windows 10
Windows 11 has a more modern and clean interface. The operating system comes with a completely redesigned design - cleaner, tidier and more pleasant to work with. The menus, icons and windows have a new look, and the centered Start menu gives your desktop a modern look.
In addition, it has better support for new hardware. That is, If you have a new processor — Intel 12th/13th Gen or AMD Ryzen 6000/7000, this is great news for you, as Windows 11 is optimized specifically for them. This way you will get better performance and longer support in the future.
Windows 11 has optimizations for gaming, and gamers will appreciate support for DirectStorage (faster game loading from SSD) and AutoHDR for more vivid and contrasting colors in games. It also has more convenient multitasking. With features like Snap Layouts, you can easily arrange windows in different configurations. Virtual desktops are also better organized, which makes it easier to work with many applications at the same time.
And perhaps most importantly – Windows 11 has long-term support. Windows 10 will only be supported until October 2025. If you want to be sure of updates, security and new features — Windows 11 is the better long-term investment.
2. Disadvantages and risks of switching to Windows 11
It's time to look at some disadvantages of Windows 11 compared to 10. The first is that Windows 11 has higher system requirements. It requires TPM 2.0, Secure Boot and a relatively new processor. If your machine is older, it may not officially support the new version.
With the newer operating system, there is also the possibility of potential incompatibilities. If you use older programs, drivers or peripherals, you may encounter bugs or lack of support.
Last but not least, Windows 11 has a slightly higher system load. On very old computers (for example, with a 4th generation Core i3, HDD without SSD), Windows 11 may run slower than Windows 10.
3. Quick test: Is your machine suitable for Windows 11?
To help you decide whether to upgrade to Windows 11 or stay with Windows 10, we've prepared a quick test for you. Answer "Yes" or "No" to the following questions:
1. Is your processor an 8th generation Intel (or newer) or AMD Ryzen 3000 (or newer)?
2️. Do you have at least 8 GB of RAM?
3️. Does your computer have an SSD (not just an HDD)?
4️. Does your machine support TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot? (Check with tpm.msc in the Start menu.)
5️. Do you want to use new features like Snap Layouts, DirectStorage, and AutoHDR?
6️. Do you have important old programs or printers that you're worried about stopping working?
How to interpret the results:
If you answered "Yes" to 5 or 6 questions, you can safely switch to Windows 11.
If you answered "Yes" to 3 or 4 questions, you can upgrade, but check the compatibility of drivers and programs in advance.
If you answered "Yes" to less than 3 questions, it is better to stay with Windows 10 for now.
To summarize what has been written so far, we can say that if your computer is new, fast and compatible - Windows 11 is the better and future-proof option. If your machine is older or you use specific software - it is better to stay on Windows 10 for a while longer.
