In today's blog article, we will introduce you to the origin of Hop.bg products and the processes they go through to reach you.
1. What is the origin of the products on the Hop.bg website?
Hop.bg products are recalled leased goods. In other words, technological products (such as laptops and computers) come from large European companies that over time replace their goods with brand new ones. The reason is that it is much cheaper for the companies in question to take on new leased equipment than to maintain the old one. The old products are actually high-end business models with a lifespan of between 5 and 10 years with a balanced configuration and proper maintenance.
The goods arrive at us on pallets, but they are properly packaged and divided by model when they leave from abroad. The laptops are in one place, and the computers in another. The products that come to us are well packaged and come in a good appearance so that they are suitable for sale later. Like our colleagues abroad, we also take care that the goods are well packaged, protected and arrive at us (and subsequently at you) in the way we want.
2. From raw to the store shelf
Once it has arrived at our place, the goods go through a number of processes. Initially, it is unpacked and sorted by models and types - laptops, monitors, computers, etc. The types of products themselves are divided by brand, model, configuration (when necessary).
Then the goods go through several internal warehouse processes for processing the equipment itself, so that it can reach the end customer in the best possible shape and functionality. First, the products are dedusted, followed by software and hardware optimization. This is done through specialized software installed by us, which tests everything functionally - all the hardware, all components (camera, keyboard, battery, display, ports, USB, charger, etc.), each peripheral of the device itself. Each component that passes the test successfully is recorded in the database.
Laptops, on the other hand, undergo stability tests that guarantee their functionality. If a laptop passes the stability test successfully, it is fit for use, regardless of the load that the end customer will cause it. In cases where a laptop fails the test, more in-depth analyses and tests are initiated, and it is transferred to specialists who pay special attention to it until the cause of the problem is discovered.
After passing the tests in question, each laptop is configured in a correct (adequate for today) configuration. New processes of final cleaning and dust removal follow before it reaches the end customer.
3. How are batteries tested?
In order for a battery to be categorized as fit, there is a critical minimum that must be met. The critical minimum is intensive use of the laptop within one hour. In other words - within an hour the laptop should work at its maximum performance, which generally happens very rarely in everyday life, since one hour of intensive use is equal to about 3-4 hours of the laptop's work in our everyday life. Battery life often depends on the laptop model - there is a serious difference, for example, between a battery on a mobile workstation and one on a gaming laptop with a more serious configuration, with more serious video cards, consuming more current than the battery.
What happens if the battery does not withstand the initial tests? The first option is to replace it with a brand new original battery. The second option is for the laptop to work with a replacement that fully meets the characteristics of the original battery. The third option is to have the battery recycled by Hop.bg specialists, and it should be noted that a battery recycled by Hop.bg gives the same indicators as a brand new original battery.
If we had to summarize everything written so far – we insist that the goods that go to our end customers be of the quality they should be, that they are maintained, that they are fully functional, that there are no defective components or hardware devices and that we are sure that everything will be fine the next time we use them.
In the meantime, on the Hop.bg website you can view all available offers for refurbished equipment at affordable prices. Visit our stores in Sofia, Plovdiv, Pleven, Varna and Ruse and see for yourself the quality of the wide variety of products we offer.
