In today's blog post, we'll focus on refurbished laptops at Hop.bg and answer some of the most common questions our customers ask about our laptops. We'll try to answer in the most understandable way possible.

1. How long does a laptop battery last, and can it be repaired if there's a problem?

Our minimum requirement for battery operation is 1 hour. Beyond that, if there's any problem during the warranty period, it gets replaced or recycled. The battery warranty is 6 months, the same as for new computers.

Very often, there are laptops that during demonstration to the customer last from 2-3 to 5 hours. Of course, battery life depends on the laptop's workload. We can't compare a 13-inch laptop with a small display and low-energy processor to a 17-inch workstation with a large processor and much more RAM. Hop.bg's service centers have battery recycling machines, so when needed, we can respond very quickly – within 1-2 days the battery is returned and lasts even longer than an original one. It's important for our customers to know they can count on us and will be taken care of if their battery isn't working.

Laptop batteries are quite similar to phone batteries. If such a battery isn't properly cared for, its life decreases. The advantage with laptops is that replacing and finding a new battery is a bit more accessible than with phones.

2. Does the laptop come with an original charger?

In 99.9% of cases, the laptop comes with the original charger designed specifically for that model. For example, it's impossible to give a 130W charger to a workstation that requires a 230W charger.

A laptop's charger also depends on the brand. Take Dell for example – if the machine requires 130W charging and we charge it with a different power charger, it will make errors and won't work properly. There are other brands that won't start at all with chargers whose power is below the manufacturer's minimum.

In principle, it's possible to have a laptop that doesn't have an original charger, but even the one we've sent with it naturally works and meets all end-user criteria.

3. Does the laptop have a warranty?

This is a question many people often ask us. Yes, the laptop has a warranty, and it's six months for laptops and computers. The warranty covers absolutely everything except software and any defect that isn't mechanically caused (like breakage or liquid damage). It covers burned RAM, failed hard drive or SSD, battery, and basically any defect that might occur. Another important thing about the warranty is that we try to service our customers much faster than the legal 30-day period. We've had cases where the customer received their repaired item back the very next day, although our response time depends on the complexity of the damage.

When there's a problem that can't be fixed, we have the option to replace the product – whether with a more expensive one, same class, or same model. Of course, there's also the option of refunding the customer's money. Hop.bg also offers extended warranty – if someone wishes, they have the option to purchase an additional 6 or 12 months warranty. The warranty topic is important because some people think that Hop.bg sells equipment that can't be replaced or repaired when damaged.

Only software isn't covered by warranty. For the computers we offer, you can purchase a so-called factory Windows, which comes below the market price of OEM and gives a great advantage – all updates work properly, the antivirus program works flawlessly, and the price is extremely attractive. This is also a big plus for businesses, as they can rely on everything being legal if someone comes to check tomorrow. Also, when a laptop is ordered with licensed Windows, it comes installed, prepared with all updates and all necessary drivers, which means it's ready to work.
